Dr Shahidha Bari, Queen Mary University of London

Shahidha's work spans across the fields of culture, poetry, politics and philosophy.

After completing studies at the universities of Cambridge, London and Cornell, Shahidha became Lecturer in Romanticism at Queen Mary in 2011 and now teaches across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.Alongside teaching, she sits on the editorial boards of New Formations: A journal of culture/theory/politics and the Fashion Studies journal.  She is a trustee of Arts Emergency, a charity dedicated to encouraging young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to study arts subjects at university.  

In 2011, she was selected as one of ten AHRC BBC Radio 3 'New Generation Thinkers'.

Professor Richard Hall, De Montfort University, Leicester

Richard Hall is the Co-Director of the Institute for Education Futures (IEF). 

Richard is also a Higher Education Academy National Teaching Fellow, and a Professor of Education and Technology. 

Richard has been involved in a range of voluntary, educational activities, based on co-operative principles. He was an original member of the Social Science Centre in Lincoln, is a Director of Leicester Vaughan College, and is also a trustee of the Open Library of Humanities

Based on this work, Richard has recently co-edited a collection on democratising higher education called: Mass Intellectuality and Democratic Leadership in Higher Education. He is currently working on a monograph on academic alienation for Palgrave Macmillan. He writes about life in higher education on his blog.
